Today’s lesson comes from Japan where we visit an autumn festival and look at the delicious food and interesting entertainment to be found there. As with other lessons on this site there will be a video, mp3 listening file and PDF lesson to download for each episode. Enjoy the show!

There are some useful words and expressions to learn below.
festival – a special event
variety – lots of different kinds
delicious – tastes very good
stalls – small tents that are used to display or sell things from
local products – things made in one area, town or neighborhood
community – the people who live in one place
show off – to display something proudly
traditional – something done the same special way for a long time
encourage – to make a helpful suggestion or help people do something
attached – connected to
jerk – to pull something up sharply
