Good evening. This is ESLpodTV. My name is Bob Bobson and here is tonights main news.
Temperatures throughout Europe broke records again with the heatwave that has brought the highest temperatures this century continuing for the eighth straight day.
Emergency services in France and Germany have reported heat related deaths in the hundreds while in Belgium a hospital had to move its patients to a local hotel after the overworked air conditioning caused its electrical generator to break down.
The United Kingdom had its hottest day ever when the temperature reached 42C in parts of London and the southeast. Although there have been many reported cases of heatstroke the majority of the British population seem to be taking advantage of the unusual hot weather with many beach resorts reporting booming business and hotels fully booked.
Tomorrows weather forecast looks like more of the same with clear skies over most of the British Isles. Temperatures will again be highest in the South and East good for beachgoers and will reach a high of 37C. In the Midlands and North of the country the temperature will be a little lower at about 32C while Ireland and the west will only be in the high twenties due to the approach of a low pressure zone. This will bring some relief in the form of rain and probably thunderstorms, which will gradually spread over most of the country by Sunday evening.
Thats all for tonights ESLTV news. This is Bob Bobson wishing you a pleasant evening. Goodnight.
